They are activities that a HNWI decides to take on, usually in their spare time, in order to gain some benefit to themselves. The project is outside their day to day successful business and is driven by motives other than pure profit. Other ways people have described them can be:

In architecture, the definition of a capstone is a concluding or crowning achievement, a finishing touch or a large flat stone placed on top of a wall or building. Landing a major account the day before you retire is an example of a capstone in your career.

We also took the inspiration from business schools: a capstone experience, culminating project, or senior exhibition, is a multifaceted assignment that serves as a culminating academic and intellectual experience for students, typically during their final year of high school or middle school, or at the end of an academic program.
